Surrounded by mile after mile of stunning moorland Clover Hill Cottage is idyllically situated for those seeking a rural relaxing retreat.  Recently converted to provide self-catering holiday accommodation to meet the prestigious 4* GOLD award by Visit Britain this meticulous cottage is simply beautiful.  Immaculately presented throughout and with much thought, care and attention to the finer details this divine property oozes charm and character with its exposed beams and wonderful blend of natural materials.  Using an environmentally friendly air source heat pump gives this delightful cottage oodles of warmth and hot water to ensure a cosy welcome awaits guests to Clover Hill Cottage whatever the season.  Snuggle in front of the wood-burning stove and watch the flames dance after a day exploring the wild and un-spoilt Northumbrian countryside that surrounds.   Full height glass doors in the lounge ensure a bright and airy ambience and give the perfect opportunity to drink in the rolling vistas.   The master bedroom is beautifully furnished; the super king size bed can be split into two single beds if preferred.  The second bedroom is a spacious single room with pull-out bed to accommodate an extra guest if required.  A fresh and contemporary walk-in shower with useful grab rails is also suitable for those less mobile and all rooms have ample space for wheelchair users for ease of accessibility.

The accommodation is all on ground floor level has under floor heating by air source heat pump and comprises:

Lounge / diner:  with wood-burning stove (all logs supplied), Freeview TV and DVD
Kitchen:  with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge / freezer, dishwasher and washer / dryer
Bedroom 1:  with super-king size 6 ft wide bed which can be separated into two full size single beds if preferred
Bedroom 2:  with single bed and pull-out single bed (for +1)
Shower room:  with walk-in shower enclosure, grab rails, WC and wash basin

Facilities

All fuel and power included. Bed linen and towels provided. Wi-Fi facility available for internet browsing.   One well behaved pet may be welcome you must contact us and we will contact the owner on your behalf to discuss.

About the local area

Situated in a picturesque and rural location this delightful self catering holiday cottage is less than a mile from the beautifully restored Lambley viaduct, a listed monument on the old Haltwhistle to Alston railway line. The North Pennines is an area with a rich Heritage to explore and is of high nature conservation importance; it’s recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.   Ramblers and cyclists will enjoy the 15km challenge of the South Tyne Trail as well as the many public footpaths and bridleways waiting to be explored. The small and friendly town of Haltwhistle, geographically acknowledged as ‘The Centre of Britain’ offers several shops, restaurants, a sports centre and an outdoor swimming pool is approx 6 miles away and Hadrian’s Wall is only 8 miles.

Perched on the edge of Northumberland, Clover Hill Cottage is located very close to the Cumbrian border and equidistant (9 miles) between Brampton and Alston, which sits 1300 feet above sea level and claims to be the highest settlement in England; it is also the starting point for the South Tyne Railway.  Take a trip to Carlisle only 20 miles west.

Clover Hill Cottage provides a tranquil retreat and an excellent base to visit the vibrant city of Newcastle and the extensive shopping facilities of the Gateshead Metro Centre to the East and the Lake District to the West – it seems to be in the middle of nowhere but is in the centre of everywhere!
