Northumbrian Cottages Policy

Northumbrian Cottages operate a policy of letting cottages that can achieve a minimum 3 star Visit England (VE) grading. Our pricing remains very competitive in an effort to provide value for money quality accommodation.

Visit England (formerly VisitBritain) developed common standards for the quality assessment of self catering accommodation and many of our cottages are inspected annually by Visit England quite independently of our own inspections.

There are minimum entry requirements in order to be recognised by VE and to obtain higher ratings an establishment will provide an enhanced quality across all area of:

Exterior
Cleanliness
Management efficiency
Public areas eg lounge dining rooms
Bedrooms
Bathrooms & WC’s
Kitchen & additional facilities
