This is a lovely cottege; it is located down a narrow lane in a quiet part of Alnwick. The cottage is a substantial 300 year old building. We were sharing with friends and there was plenty of space for privacy. The kitchen is very well equipped - way beyond that expected in a holiday cottage. Because of the unseasonably cold weather, it was cold when we first arrived. However, one telephone call to the owners brought an extra heater in a few minutes. The welcome basket of fruit, milk and bread was a welcome nice touch. We were left with the impression that nothing would be too much trouble for the owners. The lounge had a large digital TV and DVD player, the bedrooms also have TVs. A pay as you go internet dongle is available from the owners if required. This was a lovely location for a relaxing few days away. Our only mistake was not booking to stay longer!

The property was excellent for our requirements. It was in the town centre but away from the main street. It had its own garden and enough space to park on the road outside. The standard of decor, comfort and cleanliness was very high. The accommodation was spacious and the equipment provided had been well thought out. It was a bonus to have milk, bread, butter and fruit waiting for us on arrival.

The owners have thought of providing everything. We had arrived armed with dishcloths and washing up liquid etc. but these were all supplied. They also left us a welcome pack of fruit, tea, coffee, butter etc which we had not expected. We could not have asked for anything more.

The cleanliness was the best I have come across which was particularly important to us as some of our family have dust mite allergy. The owner and cleaners were helpful.
