Description

Aptly named Harbour Hill House brings such an amazing surprise! Only a stone's throw from the thriving harbour of the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, this historic property is positioned on Harbour Hill and has enjoyed a colourful past; once being the main entertainment focus as the village night club in the 70's and then a museum to a gift shop. With a total makeover recently complete the property is immaculately presented throughout and has been utterly transformed to offer deceptively spacious self catering holiday accommodation to a superior standard. The tasteful furnishings throughout Harbour Hill House are simply divine and purely drip with style. Comfortably accommodating twelve guests within five bedrooms and with four squeaky clean bathrooms this property is the perfect choice for the gathering of the extended family and friends or for those couples looking for something very special! The contemporary fully fitted kitchen with dining area is a large and excellent entertainment space. A wide sweeping staircase provides such a wonderful ambience of grandeur and leads to the main lounge on the first floor; an idyllic space to relax and unwind from a day out at sea - and don't forget to explore behind the book case and discover the secret doorway......

Harbour Hill House is a stone built property near the bottom of the main street of Seahouses very close to the harbour and where there are many facilities all within a gentle stroll. The village offers a good range of local shops with tea rooms, pubs and restaurants; the Chinese takeaway and Indian restaurant are well worth sampling. Enjoy a romantic wander around the harbour and watch the trawlers return with their daily catch or take a boat trip to try your luck at fishing or visit the Farne Islands to admire the seal colony and bird sanctuaries. The sweep of golden sands Beadnell Bay is renowned for is only two miles south - a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and is appealing to those who yearn to roam barefoot in the sand and listen to the lap of the waves against the shoreline.....

About the local area

Three miles north is the picture postcard holiday village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, which commands the power and presence of the seasoned film set it regularly becomes and where the Grace Darling Museum is interesting to visit. The wide expanse of golden and often empty sandy beaches this region is renowned for is idyllic - the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as  Holy Island and the birth place of Christianity, can be viewed from here too. A little further north is the bird sanctuary at Budle Bay and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is the home to countless thousands of sea and land birds making this location a haven for bird watchers. The elegant Georgian town of Berwick, which straddles the salmon rich river Tweed, is 20 miles north and the historic market town of Alnwick with its own magnificent castle offers many facilities around 13 miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction with its grand cascade waterfall and restaurant set within the largest tree house in Europe.

With five fresh double bedrooms and four pristine bathrooms, Harbour Hill House is an excellent choice for the gathering of up to twelve guests seeking contemporary accommodation within the heart of the popular holiday destination of Seahouses and makes an excellent base to explore the twenty miles of Heritage coastline this region is proud to have designated as An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

What our customers say

Andrew Buick - June 2013

Harbour Hill House is one of the most amazing properties I have ever rented. Everyone, including the children, was amazed by the size and layout of the property. The house was so homely it was hard to go out. The BBQ garden was a natural sun trap and was used every day, and the cinema room was a huge hit with my (grown up) sons. Congratulations to the owners for a wonderful conversion. (I remember it when my children were very young as a maritime museum) We will definitely be returning for another reunion.

K Walker - October 2012

Harbour Hill House was a great choice, very modern and spacious. Everything there that you could want. It was a shame to go out sightseeing everyday! We all loved every minute of it, thank you. Also a lovely thought, to leave a home made cake and bread and milk etc.

H Sunderland - August 2012

A superior property, very well equipped and tastefully decorated
