The elegant Georgian market town of Berwick upon Tweed is a mere 3 miles and offers many facilities including a cinema/ theatre, leisure centre with indoor swimming and an array of quaint tea rooms, shops and restaurants. A regular train service from Berwick takes only 40 minutes to reach the heart of the cultural city of Edinburgh, renowned for its festivals, arts and music venues, its superb castle and Medieval buildings and not forgetting the indulgent shopping experience along the royal Mile! Paxton House and Country Park is set in 80 acres of gardens, woodland and park-lands and is well worth a visit close by. The Scottish Border toon of Coldstream, with its wonderful woodlands walks at the Hirsel estate and prestigious golf course is only 13 miles.
