The pretty village of Bellingham with its tourist office and Heritage centre is 5 miles north and the Woollen Mill at Otterburn is popular with visitors. This is the fringe of the Northumberland National Park where there are miles of beautiful countryside to explore. Pony trekking, windsurfing, sailing and ferry trips are only a small sample of the many outdoor activities that can be arranged at Kielder Water -  Northern Europe's largest man made lake -  which is cradled by Kielder Forest Park, a paradise for ramblers and cyclists who will enjoy the various challenging routes close by.
