Description
Situated within a quiet cul de sac in the heart of the friendly village of Wark, this link detached modern style bungalow has recently undergone total refurbishment to provide excellent holiday accommodation. The lounge boasts a cosy wood burning stove ensuring a warm welcome awaits guests whatever the season and a French door leads down one step to a bright and airy conservatory where the beautiful uninterrupted views across a field where sheep often graze and toward the banks of the River Tyne can be admired- a superb feature of the property. Only a few steps up to the front entrance (with the benefit of a grab rail) and then most of the accommodation is at ground floor level giving ease and comfort for those with limited mobility. A gentle stroll along the footpath from the rear of the property leads to the village green and amenities including a shop, post office, butchers, Doctor's surgery with dispensary, two churches, three inns and an award winning restaurant. Children will enjoy the sports club and play area. The pretty village of Bellingham with its tourist office and Heritage centre is 5 miles north and the Woollen Mill at Otterburn is popular with visitors. This is the fringe of the Northumberland National Park where there are miles of beautiful countryside to explore. Pony trekking, windsurfing, sailing and ferry trips are only a small sample of the many outdoor activities that can be arranged at Kielder Water -  Northern Europe's largest man made lake -  which is cradled by Kielder Forest Park, a paradise for ramblers and cyclists who will enjoy the various challenging routes close by. The historic market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey is only 12 miles south and the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall offers many interesting visitor attractions close by. Riverbank is a superb base to explore this wild and unspoilt countryside with easy access to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders alike.
