Attached to Dilston New Town farmhouse this charming annexe has been newly renovated to provide holiday accommodation to an excellent standard. The cottage has been tastefully decorated and well-furnished throughout and large velux windows in the kitchen area maximises a lovely bright and airy ambience. Dilston is only a mile from the picturesque village of Corbridge, renowned for its many charming shops and quaint tea rooms. Just 3 miles west is the popular market town of Hexham, dominated by its majestic abbey; often recognised as the jewel in Northumberland's crown and where many facilities are available including a cinema/theatre, indoor swimming and a wide array of specialist shops and restaurants. Golfers will delight in the several prestigious courses close by and walkers and cyclists will enjoy discovering the miles of wild and beautiful open countryside surrounding Dilston Cottage. There's a regular bus service close by and the train station at Corbridge is only a 10 minute stroll and offers excellent links to Newcastle (30 mins) and Carlisle (1 hour). This is Hadrian's Wall Country, an area with a rich Heritage to explore - Vindolanda, the Roman Site at Corstopitum and Housesteads Roman Fort Museum are interesting visitor attractions close by. The vibrant city of Newcastle, well known for its global, cultural pursuits and the extensive shopping facilities at the world renowned Gateshead Metro Centre along with the Gateshead Millennium bridge, the Baltic Centre and the Sage Gateshead music venue are all interesting visitor attractions only 20 miles away making Dilston Cottage, an excellent base to discover this beautiful part of Northumberland coupled with easy access to explore the Northumbrian coastline to the east and the Lake District National Park to the west.
