This four hundred year old Bastle is rich in historical interest with much of its natural charm intact. Exposed stone work and original beams; this property is a lovely blend of old and new. The double bed bedroom bed and contemporary bathroom are situated on the ground floor with an open plan living space located upstairs. Chesterwood Farm is perched uphill and gives an amazing vantage point to admire the wild and beautiful open Northumbrian countryside. Yet only a mile away are the many facilities available in Haydon Bridge; including a butcher, chemist, farm shop, a Co-op and a couple of pubs. The historic market town of Hexham dominated by its majestic abbey offers many amenities and is only 8 miles east. This is the heart of Hadrian’s Wall Country; England’s largest Heritage Site within the most northerly of National Park’s. Vindolanda, Thirlwell Castle, The Roman Army Museum and Walltown Craggs - the highest remaining section of Hadrian’s Wall - are all interesting visitor attractions close by. Ramblers and cyclists will enjoy the miles of bridleways and footpaths whilst absorbing the panoramic vistas of the unspoilt Northumbrian countryside and there is a superb choice of prestigious golf courses and salmon fishing opportunities in the area. Take the train from Haydon Bridge and visit the vibrant city of Newcastle to the East or Carlisle to West; equidistant at 25 miles.
