The local metro stop is in Whitley Bay and is ideal if you want to visit Newcastle upon Tyne or even Tynemouth if you don’t want to walk or drive. Whitley Bay also has a playhouse with shows every week. Waves Swimming Pool, mini golf, plenty of ice cream and fish and chips, as well as fine dining and locally sourced food. Nearby North Shields is home to “The Fish Quay” where you can see the days catch sold at one of the fish markets or visit one of the fine fish restaurants along the front.
