The mile long litter free shoreline of Bamburgh beach is overlooked by the impressive Bamburgh Castle and has views out to Lindisfarne. It offers a clean place to play and swim while the uninterrupted shoreline across to Seahouses insures walkers are well catered for too.
The Bamburgh Dunes, behind the beach cover an area of over 40 hectares and are a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The dunes have a rich diversity of flora and fauna with over 500 species inhabiting the area including grasshopper warblers, meadow pipits, reed bunting and short-eared owls in winter.
Dogs are welcome here all year round and there are several horse riding centres offering treks along the bay.
