Description

With three bedrooms and a lovely hot tub this is a great open plan living space for families or friends to share. Relax in your own hot tub after a day out exploring all this super friendly county has to offer. On site the golf is free on the 18 hole golf course, with a bar in the golf club open in season for all visitors. An adventure playground is near the reception area ideal for the children, while the multi games court is ideal should you fancy a game of something whilst visiting. The site often has a travelling pizza and bar on weekends but there is a small social club in the village with entertainment on sometimes, a popular café is also in the village and within walking distance. Situated only a mile from the A1 reaching places like Alnwick castle only takes a few minutes where you can pre-book a visit to the castle and perhaps a broomstick lesson for Harry Potter fans as Alnwick castle was used for some Harry Potter scenes. The Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is nearby with miles of golden beaches and castles to explore. The Northumberland Zoo is only a few miles and Whitehouse Farm in Morpeth is a favourite for the children, remember to pre-book your times for popular attractions. Holy Island further up the coast is a step back in time and home to the Lindisfarne Gospels and is reached by the causeway (check tides).

About the local area

Warkworth is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque villages in the whole of Northumberland and not only has an excellent range of pubs, restaurants, cafes, art galleries and quality gift shops, but also a magnificent castle, located right in the middle of the village, to admire and explore.

The magnificent cross-shaped keep of Warkworth, crowning a hilltop rising steeply above the River Coquet, dominates one of the largest, strongest and most impressive fortresses in northern England. The castle's most famous owners were the Percy family, whose lion badge can be seen carved on many parts of their stronghold.

There are wonderful riverside walks alongside the pretty River Coquet which encircles the village, to watch the abundance of wildlife such as herons, foxes, migrating birds, and a vast, sandy beach with dramatic dunes and wonderful, far-reaching views up and down the Heritage Coastline.

Cyclists can enjoy an easy 18 mile day ride. The route has no major climbs and is featured in the recently published 'Sustrans Cycle Northumberland' booklet. Starting in the village, the route heads west inland on quiet lanes, and passes through Guyzance, Acklington and Broomhill. Rejoining the coast at the vast expanse of Druridge Bay and returning north via the fishing port of Amble.
