From arriving at Cedar Lodge and hearing the bubbling hot tub you will admire the elegance and luxury in every way, from the furnishings to the terrace, hot tub, and amazing view. It’s got it all in stylish abundance, with a touch of class and charm to finish it off. Built in 2020 Cedar Lodge will surprise and delight in every way, from the second you step through the door. The living space is open plan and stunning in every way. With large double doors leading to the terrace and an idyllic view over the Northumbrian countryside and Percy Woods Golf Course. Take a seat and relax, enjoy some al fresco dining or a dip in your personal hot tub. The terrace is large with glass surrounds and is the perfect place to take in the views and relax with friends and family. Percy Woods Country Park is well established and surrounds the 18-hole golf course. Bring your clubs and enjoy a round or two on us, or simply take a wander round the grounds and do some wildlife spotting. You’re likely to come across deer, they come up close and are beautiful creatures to see.
There is a café on-site and the owners regularly invite a pop-up bar, pizza/take away food van and more to add a bit of variety to your stay. Percy Wood Country Retreat is a great central location for discovering the Northumberland Heritage Coast and surrounding countryside, including castles, stately homes, market towns, pretty villages, and beaches. On-site there’s a fabulous children’s adventure playground area, multi-purpose games court, social areas, and a coffee shop for refreshments. Swarland is a lovely little village in Northumberland where you can have afternoon refreshments at the local coffee shop and sample the wonderful home cooked cakes and pastries overlooking a great park where the children can play. In the evening relax with a drink or two or enjoy the live acts of the Swarland village club. In neighbouring villages sample some fabulous Northumbrian hospitality at the local pubs and restaurants. Nearby Alnwick is home to the majestic castle featured in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey discover the cobbled streets and the friendly cafés and pubs. The stunning Heritage Coast is easily reached via the great nearby road network.

About the local area

Warkworth is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque villages in the whole of Northumberland and not only has an excellent range of pubs, restaurants, cafes, art galleries and quality gift shops, but also a magnificent castle, located right in the middle of the village, to admire and explore.

The magnificent cross-shaped keep of Warkworth, crowning a hilltop rising steeply above the River Coquet, dominates one of the largest, strongest and most impressive fortresses in northern England. The castle's most famous owners were the Percy family, whose lion badge can be seen carved on many parts of their stronghold.

There are wonderful riverside walks alongside the pretty River Coquet which encircles the village, to watch the abundance of wildlife such as herons, foxes, migrating birds, and a vast, sandy beach with dramatic dunes and wonderful, far-reaching views up and down the Heritage Coastline.

Cyclists can enjoy an easy 18 mile day ride. The route has no major climbs and is featured in the recently published 'Sustrans Cycle Northumberland' booklet. Starting in the village, the route heads west inland on quiet lanes, and passes through Guyzance, Acklington and Broomhill. Rejoining the coast at the vast expanse of Druridge Bay and returning north via the fishing port of Amble.
