Enter up a ramp into a boot room, where the main front door is situated on the left. The entrance hall houses a spiral staircase, commissioned picture window, sauna and a utility room with washing machine and feature doors. Continue on into the open plan living space, with an outstanding 30ft glass windowed floor-to-ceiling wall, built-in TV system and a raised dining area and kitchen. The kitchen has an induction hob, two multi-purpose ovens (one with a built-in microwave), built-in separate fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, that share a Jack and Jill double en-suite with walk-in shower, two wash basins, a toilet and third door that leads directly over to the sauna. On the first floor there is a master suite with ample office space and second seating area which overlooks the water garden. The visually private bedroom with its feature curved walls creates an interesting space with a double bed, double Jacuzzi bath, built-in wardrobes, built-in dressing table with lighted mirror area and an en-suite shower room. There is off road parking for two cars, Wi-Fi available and Freeview TVs in the living area and all three bedrooms.
The Swallows Retreat sits amongst a small cluster of similar style log properties on the fringe of Hadston, and provides an exemplary holiday retreat for couples and families. It is a perfect base to visit the nearby Druridge Bay Country Park that has a nature sanctuary and many water sports available on Ladyburn Lake. The traditional fishing village of Amble, known locally as `the friendliest port’, is 3½ miles north, where fishing and boat trips to Coquet Island can be arranged, and Morpeth with a wide range of facilities and river walks, is 9 miles south. Meander through the cobbles and explore the history of the town, stopping off at one of the plentiful tea rooms, modern coffee shops or maybe a glass of wine in the beautiful arcade.
The retired owners live in Swallow Lodge a small well-insulated completely separate space that adjoins the property. They discreetly maintain the garden to its high standard and look to serve by putting out the garden furniture, seat covers and cushions for your pleasure, weather permitting. Excellent value spa days with breakfast, light lunch and one treatment included, as well as use of the pool and all usual facilities, can be arranged through the owners for £60 per day, if booked well in advance. Beach 1 mile. Shop 1/3 mile, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
