The owner lives adjacent however the studio has total privacy with an enclosed area, and your dog is also welcome too.

The centre of the small town of Bellingham is within easy walking distance and has a choice of pubs, cafés, bakery, butcher and a large convenience store. On the edge of the Northumberland National Park, the largest Dark Sky Park in Europe, this location is perfect for visiting Kielder Observatory (booking essential) where you can be an astrologer for the evening. Kielder itself has some lovely picnic areas, watersports and visitor centres along the reservoir edge for adventure seekers, walkers and cyclists. Westfield Studio provides cycle storage too should you wish to bring your bikes with you. The historic town of Hexham is 20 miles away with the ancient abbey and weekly market. Take a trip over to the Northumberland Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which stretches for miles and has lots of friendly villages, historic castles and places to stop off for food and drinks.

The Scottish Border at Carter Bar is only 18 miles away. The Borders of Scotland and England are steeped in history and you can find out more at the Railway Carriage tea room and visitor centre in Bellingham. Otterburn, 9 miles, has an interesting mill shop full of outdoor wear at bargain prices. Westfield Studio makes the perfect base from which to explore this wonderful county, which was voted the best county to holiday in the 2018 Visit Britain Tourism Awards. About the local area

Northumberland's western edges contain some of its most spectacular destinations, and the Kielder and Redesdale region is no exception. While the countryside is remote, and all the more beautiful for that, there is a wealth of activities on offer for everyone.

Kielder Water & Forest Park is the site of Northern Europe's largest man-made lake. There are also acres of forest to explore. Purpose-built walking trails create perfect forest walks to see a wide range of rare wildlife including the native red squirrels, deer, otters and badgers.

Dedicated mountain bike tracks including a bike skills area scatter the area. Water sports enthusiasts can take to Kielder Water from Easter to October and the lake offers a great challenge to keen trout anglers between March and October.

However if a relaxing stroll is more your thing, you can strike out on your own and explore Wild Redesdale, a great place just to enjoy nature in its most natural form, following in the footsteps of the Romans while hearing the call of Moorland birds.

Kielder is also an ideally placed for exploring the rest of Northumberland, Cumbria, Hadrian's Wall Country and the Scottish Borders.
