The small town of Bellingham is only 5 miles with an array of local amenities, whilst Hexham with its abbey, shops and pubs is just 12 miles away. You can visit the Northumbrian Heritage Coast which is easy to access and makes a lovely day out, with miles of golden sands stretching along to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Alnwick Castle is only 40 miles, and is famed for its scenes in Harry Potter. The visitor centres at Kielder Water are only 19 miles where there are miles of mountain bike trails and water sports for all the family to enjoy. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
